Her upcoming collective exhibition will take place in 80 Washington Square East Galleries in July. She lives this year in New York and is currently a Ph D student in art at Sorbonne University and an MFA candidate at NYU, Steinhardt.

Black and white are colors which summarize and “consume” all other ones. By the black/white duality, Éléonore Josso attempts to reach harmony within contrasts.

Let us identify black color, which melts into white, the visible retreating into the invisible, the same way that white, which is rendered black, reveals itself. That is the way the invisible materializes itself and becomes matter.

From photos or sketch taken from her daily life, which are memory aids her to take note of a special atmosphere of a lived situation, an emotion. Then, using oil and acrylics, in drawings and paintings, she creates a space between abstraction and figuration, where usually there is no trace of human presence. Then, Eléonore construct and deconstruct the image, works it in painting until it exists in its entirety.
